5.18.005
5.23.005
On 5.18 we switched Internet circuits in Sequim from ATT to XO. There have been issues in regards to the transport for this circuit. It appears there where several bad spots in this wire from the quest office to our local pop. On Friday night around 11:35pm PST quest deemed the circuit stable. We monitored the port for 30 min and proceeded to call it a night. As fate would have it come Saturday evening and Sunday there was some intermittent down ages. While users who where online where permitted to stay there could not browse the web. Those attempting to get online would never be validated.

3.29.04 Today we have placed all dial-in numbers for USinTouch on the website.

2.9.04 The US in Touch Beta Program has begun. I will be sending out an email today announcing the Launch of this program.

2.6.04 Ok well I have been working on spell checking for usinmail and USinTouch. the new dictionaries are now loaded and working. If you have a problem with spell check such as your window is just closing out or your getting a socket error log off then back in. If that dose not work check the message boards.

1.26.04 Our service upgrade has been completed. There were a few residual side effects and things that did not get taken care of the first time round. All issues seem to have been resolved. The worst of the problems was a remaining routing issue that just took a bit of time to resolve. All users were able to get online, but there were side effects with email. There was a short time period where some users who got online where unable to surf the internet due to an address block not correctly being configured in the router. this was resolved very quickly.

12.1.03 I have posted a few of the features of the WebMail system on the website and how to use them. We will be adding more features to this section in time. With any luck that will be very soon.

11.5.03 11.1.03 We had a internally scheduled mail down time. All incoming mail was caught and held untill we had finished modifications on the mail system. Changes were made and all work was done within the 3 hour time period. 11.2.03 The DNS servers that the mail server was using for delivery experienced and outage that was uncontrollable. Adjustments were made for more reliable DNS servers. - More stability was added to the mail server. No incoming mail was lost some outgoing messages had a failure. This down time was short and fixed quickly. 11.3.03 While the server was attempting self maintenance there was a disk left in the computer that stalled the restart. This was fixed and the computer was modified to avoid this type of scenario again. 11.5.03 The Mail system has endured 2 days of pure bliss. This means that there where no little problems or adjustments that had to be done as they had all be taken care of. With the exception of creating a communications adjustment with Webtv.

8.11.03 Ok wow! The phones are off the hook today, Windows XP is having a serious problem. What is this problem? You might find yourself asking this very thing. There is an error while connected to the internet that gives you a nasty little disconnect notice and a swift computer restart. Fortunatly a small portion of us out there never had to contend with this issue at all. There have been patches and fixes coming out for RPC all this year. If you had been keeping up to date with windows update this issue would never have affected you. But those of you who have had restarts or reloads will have this problem simply because you don't have the updates. Funny thing is I changed all of our competitors websites and not one of them had this information for there customers so I guess its up to us here is a quick download that you can save for future use. (RPC FIX)

8.7.03 Wahoo! There we have the new certificate file installed and everything is ok. I am now re-enabling the web payments and will be working with the web Signup to make it easier to work with and facilitate the ease that I require for users.

7.11.03 For about 1.5 weeks there has been a slight issue with online payments. The issue is that you cant make them. This should be resolved within the nxt few days as we also change over out SSL certificate. We have also added a few more domains to our works here at usintouch. we have now added usinliving.com and usinnews.com both of these sites are live and ready for you to take a look see. We have a few other things in the cooker brewing but those will be released when we are able to.

6.20.03 Yesterday for about 3 - 4 hours Ea Games and a few other networks seems to have suffered a outage for the west coast. We had confirmed this after about 1 hour of research. We have added some information to the website today. We also have launched the start of our marketing campaign for Las Vegas. In the next few days I will be working on the new website configuration. This will be viewable at usintouch.org, you may notice sporadic changes there over the next month. It is time yet again to do a refit of the web site. I will finally be implementing a more interactive support section to the website. I'm thinking about creating a web based Easter egg with a price as well but we will see how that turns out.

5.5.03 Dial-up numbers were added to the website today for all areas. As for this news section is beginning to take on a life of its own and I believe that its current form must change into something else.

4.25.03 Dial-up service was activated for the 702 area code. We now have a a large portion of Nevada, We already have plans in place to expand into other areas. What areas will that be? Its a secret, we will announce the 2 other areas we will be moving into in a few months.

4.15.03 Updates were applied to all 3 firewalls today, total down time was approximately 1.9 min. This was not noticeable to any users already online unless they attempted to pull up our website ,go online, or retrieve email during this time period. This updated security policies along with AV scanning.

4.10.03 We have a deadline for Active numbers in Las Vegas. We should have dial-up access in the Entire Las Vegas city by 4.21.03 we were hopping for a bit of a better deadline but when its out of your hands the only option u have is to push for a closer dead line. We will be working on this.

4.2.03 I have removed 5 computers from the network that were no longer being used. This caused no network down time and had no effect on users internet connection. We are currently evaluating more future changes to the network and new equipment. We have a future network designed and ready to be put into place more then doubling our network capacity. We will soon be placing Internet Virus Scanning into play for dial-up users. We are also looking at offering web filtering for users who want to protect there family members from the foul traffic on the web. We will have more information on this as we get closer to implementation.

3.27.03 There was a flawless upgrade to the storage on the mail server. I added another drive in the Raid array for system backup. It took the entire allotted time to do this because of a slight mistake. We lost the mail store but fortunately I had made a mail store backup before adding another drive to the array. As I always say better safe then sorry, and learn from the first mistake you make. We also moved the internal intranet around and added a NIC to 2 primary servers for access from our intranet for increased security. We also replaced some of the bad battery packs for power backup and redistributed the load allowing for maximum network protection.

3.27.03

There seems to have been an intermittent issue with the secondary AV scanning device for email. I have removed this system from the network. On average 12 Viruses a month made it past the primary AV scanning system. We decided that the delays caused in email delivery was not worth the secondary AV scanning protection. This device started causing problems because of bad mail / SPAM build up. We have plans to implement an Anti-Spam system that the user will control there will be more information on this to come.

12.02.02 The interface for Web signup and Customer login was repaired this morning 4 hours ahead of schedule. It seems to have lost its link during the MDAC security update Microsoft issued. After we worked out a few kinks everything seems to be functioning properly.

11.15.02 The new Antivirus Firewall solution seems to be working correctly. I will be doing some virus testing with this. We will not leave it running while there is no one monitoring it. We also have the Trend Micro Virus wall running in conjunction with the Fortinet Virus wall. There will now be double protection on email, you can never have to much. There was a new graphic added to the Home page. In the next few days we will be adding information about the New systems in place.

11.8.02 There seems to be something strange with the virus wall. I just re outfitted the machine with an upgrade to ease its suffering. It seems that there is an itch that just wont go away. This problem should be resolved shortly.

11.6.02 There were 2 more trunks added to the Washington location. This will solve the busy signal issues they have been receiving there.

9.19.02 It was a rough day as our new firewall virus wall product decided to start having issues late last night and early this morning. I will contact R&D and see what they have to say about the unit and if they can offer any support. I could be looking at the whole situation the wrong way. So if you have a sporadic issue during the day we are sorry as the IT team was having a mental issue as to why windows would work and apple would not.

9.6.02 Well this was a horrible weekend for the IT team here at US in Touch. Pac West took a 10,000 block of phone numbers when a subscriber switch from another Telco provider. It just so happens that we were in the 10,000 block of phone numbers they took over. They were supposed to only take a 7,000 block. This caused a 12 hr outage of dial-in service in our Sequim, Wa location. We are sorry about this and I was expecting to be able to post an apology letter from Pac West but it would appear that they have yet to send this to me. Not that I expected to truly get one in my possession but it would have been nice to have it. We are committed to providing Top service and this happening in a new location was not what we would have expected.

8.29.02 Today we have designed the New and improved US in Touch Logo. With the assistance and ideas of others we have not only improved on the initial design but far surpassed the initial 2d design.

8.20.02 Well there was an issue with the Email system. Our Virus wall seems to have been overly filled with the Klez.H virus as we were stopping the virus from getting to the user at this gate it filled up and would no longer parse mail. This issue had existed for about 3 hours on estimate. The issue was resolved even though I was still on the road traveling from Sequim Wa.

8.12.02 Today the new site was opened. Sequim Washington is operational, and we have opened our doors the the public.

6.21.02 Yes it was rough and rowdy. The past 2 days there was an issue that we were unable to locate as it was purely random. The problem is 100% solved now and we have all new software in place upgraded and ready to keep it rolling. We will be sending an email to customers this evening to inform them what has happened. I have completely tested the new system. It would appear the issue stemmed from a garbled "ARP cache".

5.30.02 Well it was rough and rowdy but we have the new software installed. You may notice a faster rate that you are authenticated. Almost all the bugs are worked out least the ones that will interfere with the customers. I should have this worked out tonight after all I started working on this at 11:15pm on the 29th its a bit late for me now. Maybe I will go home get some sleep and tackle the annoying bug that's driving me nuts.

5.23.02 There was a quick outage today, It was my fault. I had applied an update and had not paid closer attention to the system. Everything is now O.K. The outage was about 10-15 minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience; users that were currently not logged on suffered no changes while those users attempting to connect during this time had issues.

3.31.02 We have reworked the holiday's and hours. We have added that we will close early on the listed holidays posted under our support section..

2.8.02 We have added another trunk and we have a second already ordered to be in the end of march.

2.4.02 There is an issue with one of the trunks. We are working with Nevada Bell currently to have this issue resolved. We were under the impression that this was an issue with one of our 6000 units but it would appear that there is a wiring issue or hardware failure with Nv Bell at this point in time.

1.26.02 There was yet another issue with the Virus wall it would appear that we have brought an end to this. No incoming mail was appeared to be lost.

1.25.02 There was an issue with the virus wall during a period about 1 hour where mail was not being sent out. The issue was quickly resolved and mail traffic restored.

12.11.01 Web site now has the DHTML menu bar working and well I might say. Next I will attempt to move the web from its dreary existence to a XML based life form with web page dynamic content. What dose this mean to you? Most likely nothing but it sure would make the site more appealing to me.

12.04.01 The new Billing interface is operational and extremely easier to use then before. Today is also my Birthday; what am I doing at work? Well now that's a good question but what else would I be doing?

12.03.01 We now accept Credit Cards, it has taken us some time but the work is now all over and we are working properly.

11.29.01 We have added another trunk to provide more lines. There is another scheduled trunk addition in December 21st or 24th. Thank you for allowing us to grow.

11.26.01 I have just had the pleasure to implement the outgoing virus scanning which should stop the spread of virii from TekNett to USinTouch or vice versa. Also protecting the rest of the world from receiving virii sent from TekNett or USinTouch.

11.21.01 We have upgraded the internal backbone. With a multi-plexing switch for Zero errors in traffic and better network performance.

10.22.01 US in Mail has been given a slight face lift. We have added some new features such as a calendar, tasks, and well some other things you will just need to play with. Happy hunting

10.11.01

Two More trunks have just been turned up for us.. This should stop all busy signals..
Thank you for your patience and understanding 10-11-01   at 3:00pm.We would also
like to thank Nevada Bell for the wonderful support we have received over the last two
years in our time of growth.

9.29.01 Ok well I now have WebMail up for US in Touch. Sorry it took so long but well it was a pain in that SIDE. But she is up and running now and quite well I might say. Well there it is I said it. :p

9.25.01 TekNett WebMail interface is up and operational. It has been cleaned of the virus swarm and restored to operational parameters. USinTouch WebMail will be up by tomorrow. Thank you. 16 Installations later Thank you who offered calm moral support and understanding. Did I mention I hate the "Nimda.a" Virus.

9.18.01 US in Touch & TekNett WebMail Interfaces have been shut down Due to an infection spreading from one machine to the other. We will be taking extreme effort to remove this virus and Clean the system. No mail will be lost. You still have access to your mail accounts Via Email programs. Also you can configure numerous WebMail interfaces to check your TekNett or US in Touch accounts. Credit Card Interface should be up in a few days this will cause a slight delay in the process but with all luck everything should be rolling before the next billing cycle.

8.11.01 Well we had a heck of a time setting up the credit card verification. It was initially postponed till 8.11.01 but as the company we had purchased our hardware threw MWAVE had lost our check 3 times. This  has forced us to delay by 1 more week. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

7.12.01 We Had an ascend die on us last night. We replaced the unit in a little less then an hour. Some users may have started getting bumped around 4:45 this was due to the unit starting to fail. This unit has been replaced with a spare and as of 6:30 last night we were up to full operating power. This morning all the NAS units had been upgraded to the same revision code and now all function correctly. I also had to tear down the usinmail and rebuild them as the replay email addresses were not correct sorry for the inconvenience.

7.3.0 Here we go the 2 New Domains we have are up and running. Create an account check it out. We have made a slight cosmetic adjustment to the web page. There is more of this to come. Keep an eye open. Create a free email account here

6.28.01 E-Classifieds is now Fully functional. Weeeee there is a big sigh of relief here as this is finally up and operational. Keep watching for updates on the web site. There should be no updates today as we have finely got our Throne of Bhaal add on for Baldurs Gate II Shadows of AMN. Wish us luck although we always win :)

6.16.01 E-Classifieds was killed it did not function correctly. US in Touch now has a WebMail interface. The TekNett WebMail interface has been upgraded. Monday we should be adding a free email service with a nice appeal.

6.14.01 E-Classifieds is up Tomorrow We will ad Web Mail for The US in Touch Domain. there was one heck of a battle as we have not installed E-Classifieds for almost 6 months and had to force install it on its own server.

6.11.01 There was an unscheduled Down state last night from 11:45 to 12:15 We changed out some office equipment, there was a slight side effect from the change over and a portion of mail did not start back up. Accounts were still able to receive mail but not send, this was taken care of when we noticed the issue sorry for any inconvenience.

5.18.01 All Domains are functioning and are sending mail to each other. WebMail is now functional in full steam. We will apply the new look and feel ASAP. We are almost done with the TekNett redesign that will include movies we have watched with a review, ranking, rating, and so fourth.

5.17.01 The problem with USinTouch  not receiving email from the outside world has been resolved. This was not initially an in house problem. Our outside DNS reference was not updating correctly in turn causing a problem with USinTouch not being able to receive email. This has been resolved and Virus Scanning has temporarily been paused. This will be resumed with a warning.

5.16.01 We ran into a problem refitting US in Touch with the Antivirus scanning. We attempted to resolve this issue after much deliberation and calibration we found that the problem for USinTouch receiving email was not an internal issue.

5.15.01 USinTouch.com Email ran into a problem with the Anti-Virus Scanning. Us in touch users will have a problem receiving email until later this evening. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Email scanning will be resumed on this domain in the next few days.

5.11.01 Antiviral e-mail scanning was initiated with no problems. The change over actually took place completely automated, while administration was sleeping :) I do so enjoy sleeping! This Free addition took place just hours before the new "homepage" Virus was tearing up ISP's across the world. You will now be able to look forward to having safe e-mail.

4.5.01 All system updates have been completed. The new WebMail Interface has been completed and will be changing in the next few days. We are currently fully migrated into the new billing software to offer you a better billing solution. Credit cards are not yet available for online transactions.

3.23.01 Those who would like to know the skinny on what happened this morning around 2am with the on and off intermittent problems. We are sorry there was an issue with the firewall on the new system. We changed networks to allow you to connect at around 6am; around 8:20pm we changed the networks back as we resolved the issue with the firewall. Thank you for your patience, and those who woke me up at 5 in the morning. thanks for the wake up call!

2.20.01 Ok well its been driving me nuts so the E-Classifieds now sends email and this function is working correctly. There are some more features that we will be adding in the future. keep watching. Amongst the havoc of upgrading all the systems to bring new features it appears that there were some transfer problems on one of the T1's this issue was found in 20 min and we have made adjustments to stop the flux to maintain your service.

2.3.01 This morning we had made some changes with the network. The web site and some other small things. Look for things to change. There was no outage besides the web site today do not fear.

2.2.01 Today We had 2 new trunks added to the existing trunks. Thanks you for helping USinTouch become what it has today. This should stop all the busy signals, at least until the next large growth period.

1.24.01 Today the 24th we have had a new trunk turned up. This should considerably reduce the busy signals you have received. We are expecting 2 more within the month, and will keep you informed as to when we have them in and running..    Thanks    The TekNett Crew

1.9.01 On Tuesday 1/09/01 at 7:30we lost a needed piece of equipment. The problem was patched and in full running order at 9pm. Wednesday from 5:30 to 9:30 there were busy signals. Thursday at 5:45pm we received the replacement for our downed equipment. By 7pm the system was up and running and all lines were functional.
